Sugar & Gold Tour starts Saturday, listen to the new Bodyaches EP Now!

Sugar & Gold - BodyachesYes. Sugar & Gold start their mammoth, 2 month US tour with Yip Deceiver this Saturday in Athens, GA. If they’re coming to your town, cancel other plans, you need this in your life. Tour dates are below the fold.

To celebrate the tour, we invite you to listen to the new Sugar & Gold Bodyaches Remix EP in it’s entirety over on Bandcamp. Two brand new cuts and five tracks from 2010′s Get Wet! album, remixed by friends Sorcerer, Yip Deceiver, Maus Haus, Loose Shus, and Nastique.

Sugar & Gold announce winter tour dates, Bodyaches EP

Sugar & Gold Dots 1We are pleased to announce that Dance pop masters Sugar & Gold are hitting the road in a couple of weeks for a massive, 2 month US tour and releasing a new remix EP. Rock!

Sharing the trip with them will be Yip Deceiver, the new project from Davey Pierce, who plays alongside S&G’s Painless in Athens supergroup of Montreal. Both bands will be sharing members, so it will be a full on family jam. Scroll down for tour dates.

And coming March 8th will be the new  Bodyaches EP from Sugar & Gold, featuring a new single edit of Bodyaches, 2 brand new original cuts, and 5 remixes of tracks from 2010′s Get Wet! They’ve gathered an eclectic team for the remixes, including turns by Sorcerer and Maus Haus among others, and it’s the jam. For more info, click here.

Social Studies announce US tour, CMJ Show!

Social StudiesSocial Studies play in Berkeley this Saturday before embarking on a US tour out to NYC to play their first CMJ showcase. It’s followed by a swing through the south, down to Athens and then a quick run back through the rockies, wrapping up in SF in early November.

Their debut album, Wind Up Wooden Heart, continues to get strong college radio airplay across the country, and for those of you outside of the Bay Area who haven’t seen this band’s electrifying live show, this is your chance.

Do not miss this. The Antenna Farm crew trooped out to the venerable Bottom of the Hill last week to go see our newest signing and to restore our faith in the transcendent power of good music. We were not disappointed.

Social Studies release Holler Boys Video, Interview on Capital Public Radio!

Social Studies SF Popfest1Social Studies are back from a 10 day west coast tour, and are already back at work, plotting their October tour out to the CMJ festival and back. Their new album, Wind Up Wooden Heart, is hard-charging up the CMJ college radio charts, breaking the top 50 this week: #49 with a bullet!

While the band preps for some September Bay Area shows and a full US tour in October, they have a couple of new items to share, a new interview done earlier this week with Capital Public Radio in Sacramento, and a brand new video for the song Holler Boys. Check them out below!

Sugar & Gold wrap up Spring Tour with Oakland Blowout!

Radical.

Sugar & Gold are wrapping up their spring tour with a couple more shows on the road: to wit, they hit Tucson and the legendary Club Congress tonight (Thurs, 6/10), and an early show at San Diego’s also legendary Che Cafe for an all-ages show Friday night (6/11).

For an idea of what the shows have been like, check this shot to the right, from the Houston Free Press/Summerfest last weekend. I guess it’s officially summer!

But now it’s time for S&G to bring it all home, back to the Yay Area for an off the hinges dance party at The Uptown in downtown Oakland.  This Saturday, June 12th, join Sugar & Gold with friends Sir Lord Von Raven, Planet Booty, and DJ Hotthobo for an all night jam, and a proper welcome home for the band.

Sugar & Gold’s Get Wet! #1 CMJ RPM Add!

Sugar & Gold, photo by Wes RoweThat’s right. Get Wet! was the most added album to college radio rotations in the electronic/hip hop category this week, and was the #8 add to the overall CMJ Top 200! Congratulations are in order….but then again, it’s a great record! Grab a copy now at the Antenna Farm store or get a copy directly from the band on tour.

Speaking of which, they play a set of 3 record release parties in California starting tonight before they hit the road, here’s a quick reminder of those dates!
