Social Studies are on the move.
To start, they’re announcing a short string of California dates for early May, in a support slot for Ramona Falls (Barsuk Records). But even better, the band has just finished recording their new album, as-yet un-named, but due for release later this year. Mixing is almost complete and we’ve heard a few of the finished cuts…just one word: AWESOME.
The band has launched a kickstarter campaign to fund the recording of the album, and they’ve put together some amazing music and artwork packages for the folks that give a hand. They’re a week into it and have raised just under half of their $7000 goal. If you were a fan of their 2010 album, Wind Up Wooden Heart, you’re going to be rocked by these new songs.
Of course, Californians can check things out first hand, as Social Studies head out on the road next week to preview a handul of these new songs for you personally!
