Happy New Year! Celebrate 2014 with 25% Off Everything in the AF Store!

Duck DerpYeah, 2013 probably wasn’t a year everyone wants to remember, but there were a few high points, no? Sure, shit got weird out there, but hey! Social Studies played Outside Lands! Dana Falconberry did a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR! And The Blank Tapes released the amazing Vacation LP and played the Carson Daly show! Foxtails Brigade did a NYC residency! We totally blew up SXSW! And around here, Antenna Farm welcomed a new member to the family and it’s been real good.

Nonetheless, I know everyone is ready to put 2013 behind us and ring in 2014 with extreme prejudice!

We’re there too. And to help ring in the new year, we are offering 25% off EVERYTHING in the Antenna Farm Store for the entire month of January!

Just enter promo code “2014” when you check out, and every CD & LP in your cart will be 25% OFF!

So get yourself over and pick out some of the tunes that your thoughtless friends and family failed to get you for Christmas/Haunnaka/Kwanzaa! Buy Early, Buy Often! And remember….when you think  no-one else loves you, just remember…AF has got you on speed-dial, baby.

Yup, that was great. A big thanks to everyone who came out to spend some time in Austin with us, we had a great time chasing around Social Studies, The Blank Tapes, Dana Falconberry, and the brand new project from Agent Ribbons‘ front-woman Natalie Ribbons: Tele Novella. Also a special thanks to the amazing Body Parts and So Many Wizards, who were kind enough to join us on our SXSW showcase last week at Valhalla.

And we had some nice words come in from the various press who came out: Social Studies reminded a Vice correspondent that he was, in fact, here for the music, likening them to Beach House jamming with Ratatat. The New York TimesJon Pareles raved about Dana Falconberry: “Her music is gentle yet intricate: a rusticated chamber music using banjo, cello, and staggered, contrapuntal vocal harmonies with the other women in her band, in songs full of wordless interludes that unfurled a skein of possibilities.” And Ann Powers of NPR called The Blank Tapes one of her picks for SXSW: “I actually really liked Blank Tapes, they were kind of a bent version of 60′s pop and they were really fun.”

So, yeah. Thanks again to everyone, and we’ll see you next year!

Social Studies release video for Still Life!

Noise Pop officially announced Social Studies‘ Brick & Mortar show (Wed Feb 27 & for more details, check here ) and the band is still adding a few dates to their US tour with Ramona Falls (San Diego on 2/24 just added!).

In the meantime, they have presented us with a new video! Still Life is a slow burn that drives to an aching and heavy emotional release: “We’re ending this tonight!” and is one of our favorite cuts on their new album, Developer.

The video is a cool animated short, created by Murder Doll House Films. Check it out below!
