Agent Ribbons return to Oakland for a show with Social Studies, Emily Jane White & More!

Agent Ribbons on the road!Agent Ribbons are headed back into the the studio to start recording a whole new set of songs as a follow up to 2010′s critically acclaimed Chateau Crone.  The band will spend the first week of February recording in their old hometown of Sacramento but are stopping in Oakland for a one-off gig on the way next Friday, January 27th.

But it’s not just any show. This gig will be a blowout as the Ribbons share the stage with fellow AF artists Social Studies, who are also about to head into the studio to record a follow up to their 2010 album Wind Up Wooden Heart. With engineer Eli Crews (who has recorded albums for the likes of Deerhoof and tUnE-yArDs) on the boards we’re looking forward to checking these tunes out!

Also on the bill will be a short solo set by Emily Jane White, a local singer songwriter who we’ve become quite enamored of over here at the AF HQ. More on her in a subsequent post.

Rounding out the bill are openers SunBears! a great indie pop duo out of Florida on their first west coast tour, the norcal retro poppers The Ian Fays, and DJ Zola. This bill is like a ginsu knife set, the hits keep coming!

So come on out, it’s only $5!

New Video for Grey Gardens!

We love fan-made videos! They are always a great surprise, especially when they are done as well as this video from the mysterious picturechris. Taking footage from Grey Gardens, the amazing Maysles documentary on the Beales, and combining it with the Agent Ribbons song inspired by the film? Perhaps a bit predictable…and a little shaky on copyright grounds….but when done this well it’s hard to deny! Kudos!

Grey Gardens appears on Agent Ribbons’ 2010 album, Chateau Crone, available on CD/LP/MP3 at the Antenna Farm Store.

Agent Ribbons release new video!

Happy Memorial Day! Agent Ribbons are on the verge of wrapping up their west coast tour, with just a couple of shows left on their way back to Austin…..a great time to turn back the clock from their new LP Chateau Crone and to release the video for 2009′s ‘That’s Not Edgar’s Heart’ (from the ‘Agent Ribbons and the Star-Crossed Doppleganger‘ courtesy of Seven Inch Project).

Beautifully shot and directed by Ryan McCoy for Blank Productions, it’s their first video for Agent Ribbons. We hope to see more!

We Are All Awesome!

We Are All AwesomeEvery once in a while, we at Antenna Farm are reminded of how lucky we are to be doing what we’re doing: working with some of the most talented musicians and creative artists we know, doing our small part to bring their work to the world at large. A little gushy, maybe, but what can I say, Agent Ribbons just rolled through town last night and it was, as usual, incredible. So forgive us if the language becomes a bit…florid. We’re in mid-transcendence here!

Over the years, it has been our pleasure to release debut releases from the likes of PapercutsThe Donkeys,The BotticellisStill Flyin’ and Sugar & Gold, as well as albums from Bart DavenportSocial StudiesAgent Ribbons and many more. With a brand new album from Foxtails Brigade, we are going strong.

And with that, we are pleased to release a brand new compilation of some of our favorite tracks from the last few years. We Are All Awesome is a love letter back to these great musicians and a tribute to their craft. Featuring some of our favorite cuts from the last few years worth of AF releases, this is a great way to get yourself acquainted, or re-acquainted with the Antenna Farm catalog. And best of all, it can be yours for free!

Already charting on a bunch of great radio stations across the US, including (just to name a few!)  KFAI, KDVS, KVCU, KGNU, WRUW, KUCR, KALX, WNYU, KCSB, KTCV, KCPR (#1, baby!) & KXLU, this little collection is just the thing to help you kick off your summer jam.

And yeah, I said it, FREE. Just scroll over to the right side of this page and sign up for our mailing list (we send out updates about once a month, with tour info, free music offers, and more….and we will never share your email with anyone!) for a free, instant download of this great 15 song collection including the artists above and more! Agent Ribbons Announce West Coast Tour!

Agent RibbonsIt’s springtime, and they’ve got a new vehicle, and that can mean only one thing: Agent Ribbons are hitting the road for a string of southwest and west coast dates covering the last week of April through the whole month of May!

Their last time out here was a frantic whirlwind around Christmas time, and it left a lot of ground uncovered. This time around, they are rectifying that. Several shows in Los Angeles , Sacramento and the Bay Area, plus their first visits to Portland and Seattle in over a year….and by popular demand, they’re even hitting the smaller central CA towns  like Modesto, Grass Valley and Fresno…. this tour will be epic.
