Just a reminder, Emily Jane White‘s new album, Ode To Sentience hits stores today! The cd is a deluxe matte digipak with new artwork and a bonus track not included on the European edition. Folks who prefer physical albums over iTunes downloads will find this to be well worth the wait!
This title is, of course, available on Amazon, iTunes, and all of those big retailers, but we suggest you head on down to your local mom & pop record store to support a local business with your discerning music purchase. Of course you can also head on over to the Antenna Farm Store to grab a copy. We are currently shipping all orders inside of 24 hours, and throwing in a free poster to boot!
Ode To Sentience is Emily Jane White‘s third album, and her most realized to date. Drawing upon finger-picked folk, traditional country, classical music and rock, White creates an expansive space for her intuitive lyrics and elegiac vocals. The spare skeletons of the songs on Ode to Sentience are fleshed out with subdued electric guitar thrums, diaphanous organ, ethereal pedal steel guitar, lush strings, and White’s dusky alto with its signature catch.
Want to check it out before you buy? The fine folks at Spinner are hosting a full album stream all week. Check Ode To Sentience out in it’s entirety HERE.
Finally, if you’re in the SF Bay Area, join us tonight for a record release celebraish over at Brick & Mortar, as Emily will be playing Ode To Sentience in it’s entirety with a full backing band. She will be joined by Sacramento’s Two Sheds and Jon Porras (of Barn Owl). Not to be missed.
Not in the Bay? Don’t worry, after this, EJW heads east for another couple of weeks of shows. For a full itinerary, click here.
