It’s that time of year again in San Francisco….Noise Pop! Now in it’s 19th year (starting to feel old yet?!!?) this SF tradition has firmly established itself as a great showcase for both local and international talent, always a good time and a great way to discover cool new music.
This year is no different, with shows from Peanut Butter Wolf, Ted Leo and Yo La Tengo amongst others…PLUS our own Social Studies and Bart Davenport!
Wednesday, February 23rd, Social Studies play the Bottom of the Hill in SF, opening for Typhoon and Admiral Radley. This show is likely to sell out, so consider getting tickets in advance here. And if you haven’t checked out Social Studies’ 2010 album Wind Up Wooden Heart, do yourself a favor and check out their song Time Bandits:
And then, on Friday, February 25th, Bart Davenport opens for Alexi Murdoch at the Swedish American Hall, upstairs from the Cafe Du Nord. This intimate, seated show is already sold out, but you can still get a crack at it with a Noise Pop badge (which, incidentally, gets you into ALL of the Noise Pop shows!).
Bart’s got a great new covers album out on German label Tapete called “Searching For Bart Davenport“, with great songs by Caetano Veloso, Gil Scott-Heron, the Moore Brothers, Broadcast, and more! More on this album soon, we will have copies for sale in the Antenna Farm webstore….as soon as our shipment clears customs!!!!
For now, check out his cover of The Kings of Convenience‘s Cayman Islands:
