San Francisco’s Social Studies take a break from prepping for the release of their debut album, Wind Up Wooden Heart (out in late July on Antenna Farm) to play some west coast and midwest shows starting this weekend.
Notable stops include the Silverlake Jubilee Festival in Los Angeles, The Subterranean in Chicago, and Porterpalooza on the UCSC campus, but the show we’re most excited about over here at the AF Headquarters is the Sunday show in Fresno, and it’s not just because they’re playing with buzz band Rademacher. No, it’s because they’re playing Audie’s Olympic, which we last saw in Pee-Wee’s Big adventure, playing the part of the nasty biker bar! Sweet!
But wherever you are, when Social Studies rolls through your town, cancel your plans and catch them where you can. They put on a great show, and this is a record we are really excited about.
