Yes, you read that right. Bart Davenport is headed out on a west coast tour with his ace LA band, and you should totally go.

But before you do, check the great new video for one of our fave cuts from his new album, Physical World. The video is for Fuck Fame, and if the song wasn’t good enough, the video features LA comedian Brent Weinbach (who is brother to Foxtails Brigade’s Laura Weinbach, yes it’s a small world…). The song is great and the video is funny and smart…and like any good video has a totally predictable twist ending. Check it out below…and if the band is coming to your town, check that out too!

June is NorCal Festival Season for The Blank Tapes

Is it summer yet? I guess so, cuz June gloom has set in and the fires are everywhere. Luckily the Blank Tapes are rolling up north to blow all that away and usher in some good times.

First, Saturday, June 14th TBT will be at the Gundlach Bundschu Winery in Sonoma for the awesome Huichica Festival, joining other great acts like David Longstreth (Dirty Projectors), Mount Eerie, Vetiver, Magic Trick, EDJ, Michael Hurley, Meg Baird, The Cairo Gang, and local faves Extra Classic. Plus great wine, killer food trucks, and an environmentally sound low impact footprint. Huichica is always a good time and is pretty close to Oakland & SF. For info, check HERE.

Then the following week (June 20-22) and a couple hours north, there is the Hickey Fest at the Peg House just outside of Standish Hickey state park in Leggett, CA. With free-flowing beer, psychedelics, shared camping and the Eel River just walking distance away, this is a fun in the sun bash that you may have problems remembering afterwards. But the band lineup this year cannot be topped. The Allah-Las, Papercuts, Sonny & The Sunsets, Foxtails Brigade, Sandy’s, TBT and a ton more, this is an awesome time waiting to happen. For more info, check HERE.

Wanna get warmed up? Here’s The Blank Tapes doing “Pearl” from their Carson Daly appearance back in February. Suit Up!

Dana Falconberry tours the west, releases new single!

More great tour news for our friends on the west coast, Dana Falconberry is heading out for a string of dates with her full band, with stops in Tucson, San Diego, Los Angeles, SF, Sacramento, and more.

Dana is celebrating the release of her new 12″, the second entry in Spoon drummer Jim Eno‘s Public Hi-Fi Sessions. You may be familiar with that name, it’s the studio that Jim runs, and the birthplace to many fine records, much of the Spoon output included.

Palmless, the A-side takes Dana’s music in a very different direction than previous recordings, with droning guitars, synths, and an impatient programmed beat. The single is a true collaboration between Jim and Dana, and we can’t wait to see what comes next. Listen below.

The new vinyl, Public Hi-Fi Sessions #2, officially released on Record Store Day last week, can be picked up at your local shop, ordered HERE, or you can grab a copy from Dana herself when she rolls through town.

The Blank Tapes Have A New 7″ And It’s Awesome.

TBT - 1000 Leather Tassels

The Blank Tapes are back from their Feb/March tour and they are celebrating with a brand new 7″ courtesy of the fine people over at VOLCOM, a set of folks with impeccable musical tastes.

We should add that the A-side, 1000 Leather Tassels, is a personal favorite jam here at the AF offices, and we are pretty happy to see it get it’s own slab of wax.

The tracks were recorded by Raymond Richards at Red Rockets Glare in Los Angeles  and feature Matt Adams, Pearl Charles, DA Humphrey, Franck Fiser, & Raymond Richards.
